Robhuntandfish Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 they are so unique. We have a lot of them where i hunt and always neat to watch them. They make quite a ruckus climbing trees. grampy Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Love seeing fishers in the woods! Cool critters. Spaceman Spiff 1
mowin Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 (edited) Interesting critters. I once watched one stalk a big tom while he was gobbling on roost. I was torn... do I spook the tom so he doesn't get eaten, or do I watching what happens if the fisher was successful 50' up a tree? Tommy spotted him as soon as the fisher hit the limb he was on and busted out of there. Seen them chase squirrels up a tree which makes one heck of a racket... As a trapper my thought seems to wander in the beauty along with dollar signs LOL, in 2013 that Fisher pelt was worth $150-200. Edit; Top lot was $750 Edited September 28, 2023 by riverrat Spaceman Spiff and Bucksnbows 1 1

Bucksnbows Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Fisher are tough animals for sure. Any animal not afraid of a face full of porcupine quills has my respect. Their cousins the wolverines are one of the toughest animals pound for pound there are anywhere. The Mustelidea family (weasels) are all amazing animals. grampy and Rusty 2 "A sinking fly is closer to Hell" - Anonymous https://www.troutscapes.com https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board
