nywaw Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Took a trip up to meet with my brothers and nephews near Pulaski. Up here today and tomorrow morning! Small streams, big fish, ton of fun! Wolc123, Lomax, Bionic and 15 others 16 2
Robhuntandfish Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 If I wasn't working I would try to catch up with you. I'm about 35 minutes from there. I used to fish it a bunch in my younger days and had lots of fun. I never cared much for the salmon though and always gave it away. Smoked it's not bad. I haven't gone in a few years. I did so much of it that I guess it isn't as appealing these days. Plus lots of people and sometimes a treacherous wade. But man it was fun. We used to have 7-8 of us all go at once and just dominate a hole. Lol. We'd be laughing and yelling at each other. Those fish skying out of the water and peeling off line was pretty fun. nywaw, Bucksnbows and Red 3 "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson
518BowSlayer Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Kings and cohos taste better from the lake. I love fishing the salmon river in the winter and early spring for steelhead though! Way less crowded! Never got a real big one yet but it's a lot of fun Skillet, nywaw, Otto and 3 others 6
ATbuckhunter Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 I went to Pulaski for the first time in 4 years this weekend. It was amazing to be back and around friends I havent seen for 4 years. It was nice knowing they were all wondering when I would be back. Fishing was nothing short of amazing. Lost a 16 pound steelie when a new guy decided he wanted to try to net my fish with out asking. I can't wait to head back up next year again. Might go back again for steelhead late winter 518BowSlayer, nywaw and Bucksnbows 3

They were the first place I went when I first went up there. I always bought from them to support them. Guess Ill have to buy online before I go up now.
Bucksnbows Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Matt, what’s next, an actual hunt?? Great to see you getting out. I’m 24’ up an oak tree waiting on a ghost. nywaw 1 "A sinking fly is closer to Hell" - Anonymous https://www.troutscapes.com https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board

I’m not a salmon fisherman, and I have never been to that shop, but Fat Nancy’s, right off the 81 exit, is very well stocked, and also a locally owned store. nywaw and Bucksnbows 1 1

I've gone to fat Nancy's before. My spot was walking distance to the sports shop so it was very convenient. Nothing wrong with fat Nancy's and they've always been nice to me, but the store is just a little busy for my liking. I get better deals online too. Otto and nywaw 2
