Lawdwaz Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I try and always have a length of flagging tape with me while hunting. The obvious use is to mark a wounded deer's trail but if while hunting (especially gun hunting) you find a spot you'd like to hang a stand in the future or look the area over after the season it comes in handy. crappyice Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I was walking out of a patch of woods one night that I don't normally hunt in a 3S bow only program. The amount of bright eye pins I found in the area was absurd. It a wonder any of those guys every find their right tree!!! i mention that here cause I dO hope all the flagging tape gets picked up whe done! I hate seeing unnatural things in nature! Robhuntandfish Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I have some of these in my pack for night blood trails. It's so thick where we hunt thought that they might work well. Moho81 Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I bought a package of biodegradable flagging tape 2 years ago. It's still in my pack in it's original packaging due to both success and lack of success. LOL Lawdwaz 1
DirtTime Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Carried a small spool in a pocket for years. Marking where to enter to get to a spot, used it as a yardage marker, and even to mark the area where the cathole was camping in the back woods. Now, I carry paracord for those things. You can even get glow in the dark cordage. Cost more but wort it in my book.

I carry either orange or pink at all times, but we use a ton of it for work. I will use it to mark a blood trail, especially if I’m with a newer hunter to teach them why the trail is important. I remove them once we find the deer. If I find a place I want to hang a stand, I prefer HuntStand or just my handheld GPS to mark it so it’s simple to go back to. Assuming I leave it in the package or a zip lock inside my pack it will last forever. I imagine its like TP expose it to sun and weather and it breaks down. I hope to never need to use it.
