Joe T Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Today my bird pursuits will be in the consumption category- not acquisition! Is anyone going out to hunt? As I reflect on the things I have to be thankful for this year, certainly among them are the many people I have met - including some of you- who have helped me with taking on a brand new hobby at the age of 64. My dog and hunting have been a tremendous change for me. I was never an outdoors person and the six labs we have had were my wife’s seeing eye dogs- very different than the field lab Enzo is. Because of Enzo and all his related activity I have lost a good amount of weight, gotten in better shape, smoke fewer cigars, drink less burbon, and found a wonderful release from the stress of work! Thank you all for your advice and to the admins of this site, thanks for a wonderful place to visit each day and hang with some great people! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Otto Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Happy Thanksgiving to you Joe and welcome to the new hobby! Turkey is 16 pounds and waiting to be stuffed. Dinner is at 3. Joe T 1
mowin Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 My SIL wanted everyone at her house. Family, friends, neighbors are all stopping by. It's her first thanksgiving without her hubby (my brother), so we're all going to enjoy his memory together. She has a 32lb farm raised fresh turkey, and everyone is bringing something. My nephew and I ordered a whole alagator and that's going on the pit with a chicken in it's mouth, lol. Skillet 1
