The Deer Doctors Snort-wheeze Calling device: ever use it?

Guys; Last year I watched a yutube vid from The Deer Doctor touting the use of his Snort Wheeze calling device.  I carry it in my pack but have been  hesitant to actually use it for fear of achieving the opposite effect i'm intedning.  Anybody ever use this call and have it work for them?

Thanks :)image.png.88e5dfaa47d92390dfcec75666312d23.png

I don't use a call because that sound is so easy to make with no call. I've heard bucks snort weeze many times. They do it in places where the buck to doe ratio is good and competition is high for does. It's a dominance call. When you hear it, there are always two bucks around , whether you can see them or not, it's 2 bucks. I don't think I would use it if your ratio is bad, or your calling to small bucks. I'd use it to challenge a good buck that is out of range, but I haven't had that much luck doing it.

I think I’ve only heard it 3-4 times my entire hunting career!

I've heard it many times, seen  bucks make the call a couple times. but it's mainly during lockdown when that dominant buck isn't going to leave that doe, and the only time he will, is too run a sub buck off.  I've tried calling to bucks that were obviously cruising, but I've never had one come in.

I called one buck in with it for a kill. Did it twice to get him to commit.  Very easy sound to make.  But I would t use it blind.   It does get their attention every time unlike grunts.

Fun Fact and related to the Deer Dr.-- Peter Fiducia.

A good 4 years back or so,I was at the Rockland Outdoor Expo at Rockland Community College in March of That year and just arrived. It was a Saturday  around Noon or so. The parking Lots were packed. After finally getting in and walking downstairs,I was ready for a good 2 1/2 hours of hitting all the Aisles.

Now the Dr. Doctor always had his big Vending booth up front near the Food Caterers.

So,I am walking straight down past all the Food that,I would hit up later when this Guy with head down and looking at the Floor is race walking on a Parallel  course with me.  I tightened up my Shoulders for the impact.

Finally the Guy stops short and looks up from the Floor.  It is a Dead Tired looking Deer Dr. He gave me a Tired/Angry look because he had to stop short.  Good thing he stopped- he would have bounced off of me. I figure he probably  was getting back from a Seminar he gave and couldn't  wait to sit down.

I remember  buying a Camo Daypack  at that Show,a few Turkey Calls , and a MAGA Hat.

Funny Story- Thought,I would share on a dreary Sunday.

Bill beat the sun in a staring contest.

Bill destroyed the periodic table because Bill only recognizes the element of surprise.

When Bill walks through airport security, he makes them take off their shoes.

LMAO!

Because you have quality spots.

Lots of quality spots in NY. Even some public land. I too have heard, and seen, bucks make the snort wheeze quite a few times. Even before I knew what a snort wheeze was.

Lol, the first time I heard it was in the late 70's early 80's long before I ever seen a hunting video.  I remember telling my brother, someone was messing with me because there's no way that noise came from a deer.
