At some point, we won't be able to hunt with a firearm. Won't be any ammo.

They would have to find another way. There isn't a guy on here that doesn't have enough ammo for the next 20 seasons.  Lol

True.

but how many are not. Most are used to going to the store and buying ammo a week before the season.

I just left The Sportsman’s Warehouse, where I bought 209 primers and Sabots , just to build up that supply as I recently got a ML . There was a few other guys buying them too , many still operate this way apparently.

No pellets in stock , I really wanted some triple 7s .

The ammo check thing was slow it seemed ,I didn’t need it but some guys were there the whole time I was shopping in that area , like 20 minutes .

The way my last two seasons have gone I have a lifetime supply!

if i don't target shoot I won't go thru a box of 20 for the rest of my days.  At least for deer that is.  Now next year when I'm duck hunting will be a different story I am sure.  I am planning on a lot of missing.

Czech's must be claiming their cut and then some? all that Vista Outdoor money that's profit is going over sees now anyway. i have quite a bit of powder and enough primers to keep me busy with rifles for a while, but every time you see this it makes you wonder if you do have enough.

Been saying this for years.. If they can't take the guns, they'll "take" away the ammo.. guns are just expensive clubs if you can't shoot them. Luckily I've got about 20 years worth of ammo put away across a few calibers for deer hunting. That's assuming I don't go through a box every time I need to sight it in.

Oh you will.  Used to duck hunt on Champlain yrs ago.  Two buddies would in the main bay and my cousin and I in the swamp behind them.  We'd hear them shoot, then they would get on the walkie and say 3 ducks heading to you.. we'd shoot and tell them 3 ducks heading back to ya. Lol

Vista and similar companies send that same letter out every year or at least every year they can to raise prices. It’s definitely not a new letter or new tactic. In fact, I’ve seen the same version of that letter from Vista personally in prior years.

Interesting, my only concern is two major wars about to ramp  up and production turning toward that . Well i personally have several thousand rounds for my handguns , .and 22s but only maybe only one thousand for  my AR ( 300 blk ) ,I’d like to build that up but it’s running a buck a round , I might grab 500 more soon , but I’d prefer a couple thousand more .

We’ll see what I bring back from Fla this spring .

There’s always an element of truth in their marketing but it’s also a way to rationalize annual price increases. Typically it’s labor cost, supplies costs, or demand that is out of their control. The war is a good story to sell - usually is, anyhow. I’m getting tons of these from cam companies to clothing. One’s saying import container cost increases, one is saying raw materials, one is saying shipping of products, etc. They all hit this time of year because most business run on a Jan to Dec fiscal year. Heck I wrote them for products and services at the ole Golisano company for a long time.
