Joe T Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 While we are waiting for the intermission to end and part two of the Long Island duck season to start on Saturday, my buddy, Dave and I brought our dogs to our preserve here in Northport New York to practice a little steadying work… We went at Dawn and caught the birds waking up. The dogs were wondering why we weren’t shooting! IMG_7380.mov Doebuck1234, Bucksnbows and Rusty 3
Bucksnbows Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Love to see good bird dogs of any type. I loved running my Brittanies on Spring woodcock migrating through. I had an old ski area on a county park that you can’t small game hunt, but you could train your dog(s) anytime. The old ski runs were overgrown in aspen and white birch and maples, and the woodcock loved it. I swear my dogs plotted my death more than once after them pointing numerous birds and me never taking a shot.
