Some second amendment good news

From my local gun shop

So, a bit of good news!

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that New York State cannot enforce a part of last year’s law that made it illegal to carry a concealed gun onto private property without the owner's permission. This restriction that kept firearms out of places like shops, supermarkets, and restaurants - unless the owner permitted them with a sign - has been struck down. This significantly opens up the ability for New Yorkers with a valid handgun license to carry more freely about the state.

The state can still prohibit firearms in "sensitive" locations, which means guns are still prohibited from areas such as public transportation, government buildings, hospitals, and schools.

Additionally, the Second Circuit court struck down the requirement for handgun license applicants to provide a list of their social media accounts from the past three years, citing concerns about free speech.

All-in-all…a positive step forward

what's okay to deem a sensitive place still needs some work. i'm hard pressed to think this is a win as net with the CCIA is still taking away far more than before. glad 2nd circuit said the private property thing was bogus.
