bushbound Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Lord willing, I'll be spending a week Bowhunting Whitetails in Ohio next year or the year after. I've hunted bear a few times in New Brunswick, but this will be my first out of state Whitetail Hunt. What trips have you folks booked, or are planning for next year or in the near future? 2BuckBizCT and Ncountry 2

Ncountry Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Planning on another trip to Colorado for elk, most likely Otc archery. We are going to Indiana for 9 days on an archery hunt this coming year as well. 518BowSlayer and bushbound 2
Swamp_bucks Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I will be back in PA and may try for the late ML in Ohio. Ncountry, mlamm24 and bushbound 3

This is going to be our 3rd year hunting deer out of the state.1st year was PA this year was Ohio. If only I had more time I would hunt them all every year. lol The plan is to keep bouncing around until we settle on a favorite. 2025 will be Kentucky bushbound and cervidchasers 2
Buckmaster7600 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Hoping to go back to Ontario, that was a blast and we didn’t make it this year. If I kill an Adirondack buck while Maines season is still going I’ll go up there if they have snow. If I’m tagged out in NY I’ll go to mass for late muzzloader if there’s snow, same with Ohio. bushbound and Ncountry 2
mowin Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I've done two successful archery Maine bear hunts. Last one was over 20 years ago. Two different Maine guides are very good friends of mine. I host them every year during spring turkey, opening weekend of rifle, and the ML holiday hunt. I'm thinking about another Maine bear hunt. 518BowSlayer and bushbound 2
hvny Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Always do PA(since 1981) but this year excited to go on black tail deer hunt with my son on Kodiak Island. May go after a reindeer if tags still available. 518BowSlayer, bushbound, mowin and 1 other 2 1 1
Spysar Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I live on the NY/Mass border, so I always get a Mass tag. Mass deer management is so much better than NY, that most of the time I'd rather go to Mass. I'm holding 5 pref points for Iowa, and I'm hoping to go there in 24. But it's not a guarantee , also Iowa got hit with EHD again, so I'll have to do some research to see if it's worth going or not. I love to hunt other states, and have been to some of the coolest deer destinations you can imagine. I don't like outfitters, and prefer to do DIY stuff. The only place I needed a outfitter was Saskatchewan, you can't hunt there without one. I've been to Mass, Maine, NH, Saskatchewan, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa. Got bucks everywhere I went. (and a moose) I'd like to go to Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. bushbound and Red 1 1
2BuckBizCT Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I'm due for something in 2024. In Wyoming, I got 9PP's for Elk, 8 deer and 8 lope. I've been trying to find a guide i'm comfortable with for an archery bull elk in Wyoming in Sept. 2024 but no luck yet and apps are due end of January I believe. If nothing feels right, I may do a bear hunt (until CT opens a season) or a KY whitetail hunt. But I'm way overdue for something. fletchny11 and bushbound 2

So he spoke with them and got it setup if we can find the time to hunt we can stay at their houses. That’s why we are buying 350 legends this off season so if we can go we have equipment for whatever season we can hunt. wife also told me starting next year she’s fine with me getting preference points started for Iowa so I can go at least once in my life. Moho81 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 My daughter (only 13) constantly brings up going to Alaska or Wyoming/Montana for elk. Considering I know absolutely nothing about elk hunting I got curious one day and started looking at how much guide services would run. Talk about sticker shock! I knew it would be expensive but I really didn't think it would be that expensive. DIY would obviously be cheaper but again I know nothing about elk hunting and wouldn't know where to start. I feel like me trying to do a DIY elk hunt with my daughter (when she's a little older) would be way to much like a part time job between all the research and planning involved. bushbound 1
Buckmaster7600 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I forgot to add that I’m always hopeful to finally draw my moose tag in Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont. I’ve applied to all 3 for almost 20yrs now. I said last year if I don’t draw by 2030 im going to Alaska. Pygmy, virgil, 2BuckBizCT and 1 other 4
