mowin Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 So who's in for the upcoming 3rd annual holiday hunt? We'll have about 8 of us out on Tuesday morning. We're doe only during this hunt. We do our best to make sure we're not shooting a shed buck. grampy 1
The Back 40 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I will probably get out a time or two between family events. I don't feel the same pressure now that I have 2 doe in the freezer but I would still love to get a nice buck or fat doe to add to the stockpile. The peace and quiet of the woods will probably be nice after the chaos and destruction of Christmas morning with two kids. mowin 1
Spysar Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Mostly gonna be working that week, then on saturday I'm going deep sea fishing. But I'll get a day or two in. mowin 1
Swamp_bucks Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 (edited) I will be off all week and have a buck tag burning a hole in my pocket and a bunch of doe tags Edited December 22, 2023 by Swamp_bucks mowin and JohnPlav 1 1

JJBat150 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Got 2 during bow season, and daughter got 1 during regular season, so freezer is sufficiently loaded. My father was admitted to the hospital 1st weekend of November, got transferred to a short-term rehab facility, ICU for a week, and finally back to rehab. He's 76 and lives alone since mom passed away in 2020, but based on the past few weeks, he's going to be unable to return home, so I've been pre-occupied with all the details of insurances, visiting facilities, getting his house winterized, and amongst these issues, his sister passed away. Hunting was the last thing on my mind - but did get out a few times. Things are finally settling down, so I'm ready to sit alone in the woods, take a breather and just take in the solitude that nature offers. Otto, Moog5050, Doebuck1234 and 2 others 5

Sorry to hear about your dad's health issues, and the loss of your aunt. Hopefully you find some peace and quiet in the woods.
mlamm24 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I'll be out a few times....mainly evening hunts. Will sneak out at least one morning if the weather cooperates. Looking for one more deer.....my boys are pumped and can't wait to get back in the woods. mowin 1
cervidchasers Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Mornings will be tough as I am working, but plan to get out after my target deer 3-4 evenings if possible but will be hunting hard the last 3 days. mowin 1
Caveman Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I would love to get out again and pop one more doe, but my wife is liable to go into labor any time in the next two weeks, and I can't risk being two hours from home in the middle of the woods when that call comes. That said, I could stay close to home, so if anyone in 9F wants another doe killed on their property, I'd be happy to help you out lol cervidchasers and mowin 2
fletchny11 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I'll get out one armed if my boy or brother is around to carry my gear into tower, and gut and drag if needed.

Larry Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I don't need another deer but a friend of mine has a needy family at his church that could use one so I'll go out a couple of times. mowin 1
