WTB CCI 209 Shotshell Primers (or trade for?)

Recommended Posts

My muzzleloader is spec’d for CCI 209 shotshell (Not magnums) primers.  I think they’re almost non existent these days so thought I’d toss it out to the fine folks here.

I’d like a sleeve of 100 if any of the old shotshell reloaders have any to spare.   I’d offer up cash or some small/large CCI rifle primers for trade.

Only CCI though!  Thanks for the consideration.

Any standard 209 primer will work.

The gun is a smokeless ML’r and the breech plug was designed to use the CCI primer.   Not all primers are the same dimensions, per the builder.   It certainly is possible and probable that another will work fine, I’d like to see if I could find some of the CCI.    Kind of like the “Easy Button”.

The gun is a NULA 50cal.

Primers are VERY hard to find these days.  I have a Savage ML II smokeless muzzleloader.  It calls for Winchester W209 primers.  I looked at the usual box stores online for two years with no luck.  I eventually gave in and paid a ridiculous price on Gunbroker.  I see these have come down in price.  If you can use those in your smokeless muzzleloader you could check out Gunbroker.  They do not have any CCI 209 primers listed right now that I could see.  You can have them shipped to your house but will have to pay a hazmat fee.

Pretty sure I have some Winchester 209.   Used them in 12 & 20ga reloading……

Actually there is one CCI shotshell primer on Gunbroker for sale if you want to take out a mortgage to buy them. They are 3x the cost of Winchester 209's . LOL

I checked out my box of CCI Magnum primers and my Winchester 209 shotshell primers for size and they look the same.  Im sure there is a difference in how hot they burn , but the size is the same.

Lawd , i think you will be fine using the Winchester 209's
