I’ll actually be out this season. Only the 3rd or 4th time ever. Good friend wants to get my daughter a bird so he convinced her to turkey hunt. So in reality I’m just waking up early to be the Uber driver

It's fun and addictive! Good luck🤞

And the smile on her face will be 100% worth every early morning uber drive!

If you were closer, I'd gladly have you and your daughter over.

it'll be worth it. i mean i loath the early mornings of turkey hunting until i'm out there. definitely will be worth it and memories made though.

Turkey hunting is more or less armed napping for me. I know some people live for it comparatively to deer hunting. It does seem like population numbers are up this year. Maybe that’s a break from the trend.

I thought I was the only hunter that hates early mornings. :)

I do it for Spring turkey season and some bow and all gun for deer. But I’m built for afternoon hunts myself.

That said, mild winters along with good food sources should mean more birds. So far, this winter is shaping up to be another mild one for most of us. Not all as NY is a big state with varying elevations and longitudes. We seem to have a lot at our two farms in Otsego. They schooled us the two mornings we chased them last May on the new farm, but we watched them the rest of the year and know a ton more about where they come from and where they are going to.  Looking forward to May ‘24, just not the early morning part….

I absolutely hate getting up that early.  It usually only happens 3-4 times a season.

I wish they would double down on daylight savings time and go 2 hrs.  Lol.  I thought the sun was never coming up this morning.

I'm finding that I enjoy the afternoon hunts a lot more. Not only the sleeping in part but they seem less rushed and more relaxed. With that said though I still hunt a lot of mornings but that's due to family obligations more than anything.

Unfortunately, in NY, we can't hunt turkeys in the afternoon during spring season.

I was speaking towards deer hunting but that's a bummer about turkey as well. I'll just have to come back home and go to bed
