Gobbler Chaser Posted January 2 Posted January 2 No doubt the finest cold weather pack boots I've ever owned. They were still Canadian made, new ones are an inferior Asian product. But after a long hard search with tons of research I purchased these. Made in Canada and so far I'm very happy. Bulky like my Dominators but lighter and I'd even say warmer. grampy Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I have never owned Baffin boots. But I plan to in the future. Everything I've heard from fellow outdoors people, say they are a great cold weather boot. Gobbler Chaser 1
dbHunterNY Posted January 2 Posted January 2 always thought the baffin trappers (their rubber insulated boot) with alpaca socks would be the way to go. before i owned those socks i never thought something could be better than wool.

Alpaca? Going to have to try a pair. The wool socks Ive purchased in the last 20 yrs aren't anything like the ones I used to buy way back

Just don't do what I did and machine wash one. Turns into a frizz ball on the outside. I've got no vested interest here. Just like the stuff. https://millpondalpacas.com/shop-now/ Gobbler Chaser 1
Surmn8er Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I still own and use 2 pair of Sorel Dominators. Original pair is about 35 years old and bought the other pair on ebay 4 years ago to have an extra pair. Warmest boots I’ve ever had. Gobbler Chaser 1
The_Real_TCIII Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Im also 30+ years into a pair of Sorels and still going strong! My little town has these "Meet in the Center" festivals a few times a year and theres always an alpaca farm booth selling socks and hats. Ill grab a pair next time for sure

They're still in great shape and I still wear them now and then shoveling snow... but then I stopped hunting in them some time in the mid 90's. I'd bought a pair of Rocky Cornstalkers for bow hunting and warmer gun seasons. But I found out they were warmer than the Sorrels and far more comfortable to walk in, and never went back. I was going to buy a pair of Baffin's a couple years ago and at the last minute I decided not to. But for the life of me, I can't remember why. Instead I lost my mind, bought a pair of Zambelan's and a pair pair of Hoffman pack boots. My feet haven't been cold since. (I will say, the Zamberlans are nice and I don't regret it, but they are far and away the most expensive shoes I've ever owned. I mean, I've had cars I paid less for.) Edited January 8 by cas
