According to a fellow retiree , I just saw at the gym,who works there part time . He said he just sold the last gun at Dicks Webster, and they were marked down to,less the their cost . I asked about hunting in general he said ,no camo, treestands no hunting stuff will be sold anymore state  wide . We sure showed them ….

Some may be happy with this , I am not , this is just less exposure of  hunting to the general public . I can’t help but think back to a life long friend and hunter, no hunters in his family ,but on his paper route he’d see deer hanging in the trees , ( early 70s) that sparked his interest in hunting , today he’s held most offices in his state bow assoc. and represented hunting groups lobbying for or against certain hunting laws , pro bono .

The Albany store changed over last fall.  I'll never spend another dime there.

It's been a few years now where Dicks would rather see no guns sold anywhere! They are as anti gun as they come. And I haven't spent one cent in there in years. Still some places beyond Dicks, selling hunting gear and guns. But as you said Larry, not as many as when we were younger. Too bad really.

They have the best prices on golf balls and I go through a lot of them.

Who cares if they sell guns or not, Lowe’s doesn’t sell guns either and I still shop there.

This is off-topic, but check out lostgolfballs.com.  I lose a lot of balls and I refuse to buy new just so someone else can play it after they find it in the woods or fish it out of a hazard. I buy near mint Bridgestone e6s for $10/dz and have never been disappointed.

Kind of my thought as well. Their business, their prerogative. Same as where folks choose to spend their money, spend it as they wish (or not).
Once they do a way with the outdoors section there will be little in there that I’m interested in, so I doubt I’ll shop there. I’m looking forward to Bass Pro in a few years. I’m not a big spender on anything really, but it will be fun to browse with the father in law while the girls are getting pedicures.

Exactly, if the hunting section was making money they’d still be selling the stuff.

Actually have not stepped in one since the whole anti gun stance. I do not because I'd rather not give money to a company that gives so much money to fight against our 2nd amendment rights. Great that you saved $2 on golf balls it just went to lobby against your rights......

I'm with ya. Why give your money to ANY business that will take that money, and use it against you? Since they went anti gun. I went anti Dick's!

I don't care what they're selling, or for how much. I'd pay more to go somewhere else.
