Magnus Stinger buzzcut

Has anyone used these? I'm a little disappointed in the blood trails my current broadheads are giving me, even with ideal shot placement and a pass through.

I am used to the chisel tip style, but hear a lot of people swear by cut on contact heads.

Thinking about trying them. download.jpeg.5124ea4ef98834def1d3bb5b51cede09.jpeg

So from what  i have read the serrated blade magnus  heads leave a better blood trail . I will say i used a non serrated stinger  head and  was not impressed with the blood trail  and never used them again. Google QAD exodus heads, they are just a great head . Im impressed with their performance on deer , as many others are to .

I used them for the first time this year. The two deer I shot left marginal blood trails, even though both were pass through shots behind the shoulder. One was quartering, one was broadside, both were shot inside of twenty yards - one at a fairly steep angle. Dead is dead, but I'm glad I didn't have long tracks. I'm going to stick with them for next year before making up my mind whether to move on or not.

I used the black hornets 4 blade one year and they cut ok but where the blades get tightened at is super weak and caused a bunch of failures just shooting at targets made for broad heads. A good friend had the same issues using the black hornet 2 blades.

Thanks. This is good info.

I'm hopefully going on another bison hunt out west this year. Don't want a weak broadhead on something with big ribs.

I hope the stingers are stronger.

at ATA show Magnus has single bevel heads they're putting out there now. i don't use the buzz cut but the regular stingers with no bleeder. they seem to work fine with acceptable blood trails. there's always exceptions but keep them hair shaving sharp.

i don't have experience with single bevel heads but they've been said by reputable folks to make more of a square hole for better blood trails.

I’m looking at their SS snuffer head.

If the snuffer came in 150gr, I'd go that route for sure.

I’ve used two blade cut on contact for 30 years or so , Stingers the last idk how long lol . I’d say 1/4 never knew they were hit and either stood there or took one or two leaps then  stood there and fell over .

My belief is they just zip through unfelt ,rather then some big expanding thing that they really feel and run off . I don’t know if I had an issue I’d have stopped many years ago .

I have Buzz Cuts but prefer the plain edge ,simply because they seem sharper . Double lung them from a stand and I’ve never had a blood trail issue .

I've been using then for a few seasons now.  Last buck I shot fell within 20 yds with a decent blood trail.  But each shot is different. I know there is a lot of talk about blood trails but I feel that in general,  blood loss is a direct result of the cutting diameter and sharpness.  You want bigger  wound channels and blood trails, get a bigger cutting diameter broadhead. But these are tough heads and well made. Just keep them sharp like any other broad head.
