Most of these stories are from locals that have seen the deer and spread the news.  Kinda difficult to not to notice a deer that size when even larger lot sizes in that area has a few roads intersecting the deers home area.

About 15+ years ago I found 4 or 5 headless deer on the hill behind the rain tree apartments I don't think they ever caught who did it.

Warrants revealed that Zorda had a fictitious Facebook profile in which he posed as a female wildlife photographer. He would use this profile to contact other photographers to learn the exact locations of mature urban bucks so he could illegally hunt them. Zorda and Butler would hide compact bows in backpacks and conceal their arrows in hollow walking sticks to look like hikers to any witnesses.

Funny, I get the DEC weekly email ,this story was in this weeks, and thought exactly the same thing.

Thing is we don’t punish violent  criminals, heck many times cops don’t pursue them, chases are called off every day , and if by some fluke they are caught it’s an appearance ticket they don’t show for ,and aren’t actively looked for after .

Yet don’t you  dare shoot a deer the other side of some line ,we’ll rally all the troupes.
