Saturday rifle opener question

Does anyone remember exactly what year we switched the regular season opening day to a Saturday

 

I thought it was 2005 but my brother is telling me 2006

We already hashed it out.  All good 

because of college my brother was able to hunt opening day for the first time in 2006.   He sat down at 6:45 , 7:15 he shot an eight pointer , he was in the house and back in bed by 8 AM

 

I remember him telling me how easy  hunting was

 

he has not shot a buck since that morning with the gun 

 

he did get one in 2020 with the xbow due to Covid and remote work

I did that the first year we went to the half hour before sunrise during the later part of the bow season I was hunting behind my house shooting time was at 650 and I shot the deer at 710 was knocking on the door for the wife to let me in at 820.
