They banded birds in my area in February 2007. I killed two on them on a different farm a mile away. Both were consecutive band numbers and $100 bands. I tagged the first in '08 and the other in '12. The later was the oldest documented bird in the tristate study! He had a 10" beard and 1 3/16 spurs when banded in '07. When harvested he was 22.5#, had a half frozen off beard and a 1.25" spur with the other broken off at an inch. Without the band I would have called him a 3 yr old when he reality he was at least 8!!!

The band on the second one had sharpened like a knife blade from rubbing up and down his leg scales for 5 years! I did not receive the $100 reward for this band either because it had expired in 2009.
