mowin Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Butchered up my ML doe today. Trimmed off two 1gal bags of fat. Not bad for having no mast crops this year. There is a corn field across the kinderhook creek, and I'm sure that has helped. Couple does my friend shot during rifle had zero fat on them. No agg within miles, so I was surprised to see this much fat. Bucksnbows 1

Bolt Action Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 The Doe I took just prior to gun season had more fat on her than I usually see. And I hunt AG fields that rotate corn and soybeans, so that says alot. mowin 1
Lawdwaz Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 I shot two doe out of one field two weeks apart (or was it one week?). One had zero fat and the other had quite a bit.
phade Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Buck from Sunday while still heavy was run down from the rut a bit. Not much fat at all. We noticed the lean state.

Swamp_bucks Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 My doe from opening day had more fat on her than any other deer I’ve ever taken. The buck from the last day has very little but not surprised after the rut and I had him running does a bunch of times on camera
