Splitear Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 (edited) A friend of mine has been on the lookout for a double barrel shotgun for me, and this week he came through. For the hefty sum of $75, I find myself in possession of this beautiful antique 10 bore gun marked “Wm Greenfell”. The left side lock has a bad sear spring and a needs a new hammer screw. Rather than fix it myself, I’m going to send both locks to Cabin Creek for repair/tuning. The bores look to be in pretty decent condition (Birmingham proofed) and they pass the “ring test”. I’m hopeful that after the lock repairs I’ll have a fine shooting old shotgun. Edited March 3, 2024 by Splitear Bucksnbows, Otto, mowin and 1 other 4
Bucksnbows Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Nice find! Looking forward to future posts when you get to shoot it. Would be fun to take a gobbler with that baby. mowin 1 "A sinking fly is closer to Hell" - Anonymous https://www.troutscapes.com https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board
