The_Real_TCIII Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 A friend and I caught two 17" ers from the same pool about ten minutes apart tonight, in a small wild quality creek. I got my best wild rainbow too. Amazing afternoon! Lots of stones coming off but saw just one rise. Both browns ate a blowtorch, the rainbow ate a blue perdigon IMG_1229.mov Red, Pygmy, Bucksnbows and 17 others 19 1
crappyice Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Sweet day... amazing how some waters just hold fish. Surprised that both brutes were in the same hole on a small stream
Robhuntandfish Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 what a great day out on the water. That rainbow is just beautiful. I used to mostly trout fish only and barely hunted for many years, but I have gotten away from it. All my haunts are now based on "used to get trout here" as being a stream fisherman and access and good water was always the biggest part of success and a lot of that has changed. Makes me want to look into some of my old trout spots more but as I get older falling in a trout stream isn't as desirable lol. I did get out once this fall and tried an old brook trout spot and was pleasantly shocked to see it was still good fishing. Caught a few and even kept 2 for the table for old-time's sake. Even wen thru a few old pics of favorite spots, gonna have to get out a bit more for trout. I once caught the same 19 inch brown twice within less than an hour....He was unmistakable due to an unusual overshot upper jaw... The second time I released him I told him that he had better be careful because the next fisherman that came along might not be as nice a guy as me.... 2BuckBizCT, Robhuntandfish, PraiseDiana and 2 others 3 2
