Larry Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 The waterfowl openers for the Northeastern, Southeastern and the Western zones will open all on October 12th for the first spilt. These dates suck for those of us who hunt more than one zone. this opener is locked in as long as the Feds don't change the number of days. These days were set by the DEC with LITTLE to no input from the waterfowl taskforce members
Robhuntandfish Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 (edited) It hasnt changed on the DEC website yet but I see it is proposed. For me this would be perfect as I could get two good weekends of duck hunting in before deer season gets really prime. I like having the long Columbus weekend being the opener. I'm in the SE zone for ducks and this would open it up a whole week earlier. I'm all for it.
