G-man Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Some good sales on browning cameras right now.. https://browningtrailcameras.com/collections/btc-closeouts?fbclid=IwAR31C6X4giTheDWs5VzCyb-ZZB4ydNxKPkAFzx4shMmMDk1VfBt1sgjhRg0 2BuckBizCT, grampy and nywaw 2 1
grampy Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Love the Dark Opps camera. Any Browning cam I've had has been good.
sbuff Posted March 17 Posted March 17 They have been very durable cameras over the years for sure . I bought one from phade and it's been bullet proof like my other Browning's
phade Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I have two Strike Force Max HD cams left, I’d sell them for a good price. New in box. Probably do both for 120 shipped. Regular cams are just not as popular as they used to be. Cellular makes up 75+% of the market with the remaining 25% being largely sub $50 cams like Tasco and WGI. Expensive regular cams are single digit % of sales in the market. Amazing turn in the industry. grampy 1

I don't plan on going to cell cams. Will I still be able to get a decent cam under $100?

I enjoy pulling cards and viewing at home, kind of like Xmas morning if’s ya know what I mean. My only experience with cell cams is my one and only Spartan Ghost, I just haven’t felt the love. Plus, not to be a tight ass, the cost of 12 (twelve) lithium batteries and the cost per month gets old come January. Edited March 17 by Lawdwaz G-man, grampy and Stubborn1vt 2 1
Bucksnbows Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Personally, I will never again buy a “regular” trail cam. I still have 20 or so working cams, but I have been replacing them with Reveal cell cams. I no longer have to walk all through the woods collecting SD cards to see what’s happening. As for batteries, go with either a 12 volt or solar and problem solved. Right now, I have 4 cells and will add at least 2 this year. cervidchasers and mowin 1 1 "A sinking fly is closer to Hell" - Anonymous https://www.troutscapes.com https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board

Solar panel will pay for itself in one season. Bucksnbows 1

Also, Duracell batteries are cheaper than the Energizer Lithiums by far and I promise you will see no difference in performance in rhe Reveals. Cant afford plans for 36 plus.. I enjoy checking cam cards, plus I like keeping mine low to get all the woodland life... there is more enjoyment getting other critters on cam for me than just deer. I've foubd great deal on "medical Duracell batteries and buy them by the gross now, still cheaper than buying a plan plus batteries. They last 6 months or more so .. fletchny11 and Bucksnbows 2

Will I still be able to get a decent cam under $100? They will still be made but it’s just a smaller market than it used to be. Cam companies only make money once with a regular cam sale. They make recurring revenue with cellular cams. So the inventory of good, regular cams may be less, but still there. The cheaper cams will continue to flood the market. You’re already seeing that by some of the Amazon / temu / alibaba cams becoming more common. Stubborn1vt 1

There is a difference between Duracell alkaline and Energizer lithium - battery life and operating range/performance. The cost-benefit component might not be as prominent as before with lithium costs. But most people who use volumes of cells end up with external power supply. cervidchasers and Lawdwaz 1 1

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Duracells outlast the lithium by Energizer. Someone would have to show me a scientific study to prove that one way or the other. But I agree with your second statement about going to an external power supply. I have a good friend running 54 cell cams on his lease in Kansas. He just got back to NJ after deploying them for the rest of the year and all are on 12 volt batteries. I’m only running four right now and will bring two more to NY when I’m up in May for turkey season. I've got 6, and it's the monthly charge that stops me from getting more. G-man and Bucksnbows 2
