Since Turkey season is next up.. Here's a topic..

My brother Just picked up a bird he got 2 seasons ago..  He used Josh Sayville in CNY as he is known for quality Turkey and Predator Taxidermy.. We are both impressed, as its a very clean and realistic piece of art..

We tried to get Josh to take the 1.5" spur bird my brother killed on our lease last Spring but he would never commit to a yes or no on taking another bird.  So while trying to find another great Turkey Taxi after picking up this bird, The freezer that it was being stored in, Failed.. A once in a life time bird probably... gone. Damn Sad day.. We had just found a new taxidermist to use and get this bird to, Birds Only up in Buffalo.. he had lined up a day to take it there as my brother had business in the area there on a certain day and the freezer quit a few days before they were to meet up.. not fully the Freezers fault but it certainly takes some of the blame..

Looks great. Beautiful mount . I've also heard a lot of good things about him and know someone that called him this year and he was backed up for 2 years.

Very high quality mount. I know I’m in the minority it I think they are a very ugly bird. Fun as hell to kill tho!

Their heads are real ugly but those feathers in the sunlight are beautiful.. and as well a super fun bird to hunt!

never had a bird mounted. never taken a bird with real long spurs or multiple beards. ...or with a recurve. any of those might change that. I'm not a very dedicated turkey hunter. numbers are low compared to many years ago, so even with a good hatch I leave them be. More fun calling them in and pulling the trigger IMO.

I typically wont pull the trigger either, birds are in ok numbers around me, not as good as they were 1-15 years ago but their present. Id rather call them in for someone else to kill.. and watch the memories unfold.. I do have a couple birds from the past I wish I did mount.
