mowin
It looks like rain turning to snow Thursday, with the potential for some decent amounts especially in higher elevations. Been a bunch of yrs since we've seen more than a dusting in April. I've got clients already texting asking me not to plow. Wasn't planning on it even if we get a foot. Wolc123
They are showing 50 % chance of a snowflake in our long range forecast for WNY. Just because of that, I left the snowplow on my small tractor. I did pull the seat cover off of the metal pan seat and moved it to another one that I hope to soon be using for spring dirt plowing though. I can always move it back quickly if I do need to snowplow with that little tractor on Thursday. The temperatures are supposed to be above freezing though, so I doubt that very much of that snow will stick.

Wolc123
I’m hoping for 3” - 11”. Less is too little to plow and more is too much for my little Farmall (or to make it out of our driveways with our front wheel drive vehicles without plowing first). Snowplowing is one of my favorite winter pastimes. I was very thankful for the 6” snowfall we had when I got home from Southern California last week. There’s only so much sun and sand that I can take, but no limit to the amount of snow I can deal with. Snowfalls of over 6 ft are no big deal for my 4wd John Deere loader tractor, while this little Farmall Cub is great on the lesser ones: Edited March 31 by Wolc123

It lets me stretch that “fun” snowplowing job out as long as possible. One more plowable snow this season sure would be nice. We had a few Farmalls on the farm as a kid an H and an A , not sure what the other one was. I hated those tractors. Lol. As a 12 year kid , if you didn't get the tractor to start with the hand crank it would kick back hard. Lucky I didn't get brained or break a wrist. Not to mention driving one through the woods while getting firewood , the steering wheel was pretty difficult to turn and hang onto if you hit anything rough at all. Not to mention driving one through the woods while getting firewood , the steering wheel was pretty difficult to turn and hang onto if you hit anything rough at all. I got rid of my last hand crank tractor 2 years ago. It was a 1941 Allis Chalmers model C. It always started good, when it was cool, but if I stalled it when it was hot, I couldn’t get it to start again until it cooled down. It had a tricycle front and was kind of dangerous. Luckily, the crank handle was extra long. One time, I cranked it half turn in the barn while it was in gear. It fired right up and charged at me. I jumped out of the way and it proceeded to crush everything in its path (a coupe of push lawnmowers and a leaf sweeper). It pushed that mangled stuff up against the closed front door, before it finally lost traction and I was able to jump up on the drawbar and pull it out of gear. I’d have probably been run over if that crank handle was a little shorter. Edited March 31 by Wolc123 Ncountry
DirtTime
This crap needs to stop. I need to grade the stone we had delivered Saturday so we can have our shed delivered. I can't get back up to the new house until Friday to try and get that done. mowin 1 _
