Who's going out for tomorrow's opener?

Every year on the trout opener i go have a beer at my Dad's gravesite.  Been a tradition every year since he passed many years ago.  Best trout fisherman I've ever seen.  

Every year I would go fishing with him and miss school for the day,  then they would call me to the office the next day and ask where I was and if I had a note.  I told them I was out trout fishing with my Dad and I have no note.  And every year they would call my Dad and try to tell him that it wasn't a "legal" excuse to miss school and every year he basically told them to shit in their hat.  "My son is an A student and he will always be out on April 1 wether you like it or not and he doesn't need a note to fish with his Dad".  By 10th grade they gave up and didn't say a thing anymore.  Lol.

I'm chomping at the bit to go. Got a new ultra light set up. New pair of waders. A Trout Magnet kit I'm wanting to try. A beautiful Orvis 5wt fly rod that I want to get better with. But I have a ton of work to catch up on before I can catch a trout. Will definitely be out there as soon as I can.

I’ll be out. Hiked in Wednesday to check ice on a few ponds and found one of my favorites ice free. More snow than I’d like to carry a canoe through on the 4 miles in but I’ve waited since October…

Me and my dad are gonna be out. I made up a small tackle box today and tomorrow hoping to get my first NY trout! Good luck to all that are going out.

Have to work. Was going to call out till i realized it was a holiday weekend and if I called out I would lose my holiday pay. Starting to feel sick. Might have to call out nxt Sunday. 😆 looking pretty nice.

yeah we haven't missed an opener in a few years but couldn't get off work today and I'm not taking 3 kids out in this mess we have this whole spring break :(

Weather no good to the east? Its nice here, a bit chilly but otherwise better than most trout openers
