2BuckBizCT Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Who else just got rocked? I thought it was a low flying helicopter, but couldn't find it in the sky. Whole house was shaking and rattling. blackbeltbill 1
nywaw Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Wow, yes felt it down here in southern NJ too! Shook the whole house! 2BuckBizCT 1
Buckmaster7600 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I had just came in from outside to have a cup of coffee and couldn’t figure out why the table was rattling. Just south of lake George.
dbHunterNY Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Just minutes ago around 10:25 AM ish sitting here in the office and apparently we had a mild earthquake. Located here in Albany, NY and it felt like things were wobbling. Epicenter I guess was north NJ.

I'm on top of a mountain and i could hear the HVAC ducts rattling.
mowin Posted April 5 Posted April 5 That was better than any eclipse. Thought it was a low flying plane at first until stuff hanging on the walls starting shaking. 2BuckBizCT 1
Ncountry Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Earthquakes are no joke. We had one this last fall or over the winter who's epicenter was within a mile of being directly below our neighborhood. I was visiting my brother at the farm and it shook and rumbled loud enough that we stepped outside to see if there was a big car crash or something in front of the house. It gave me a whole new respect for quakes higher on the richter scale.
Robhuntandfish Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I was at home for an early lunch and the house made cracking noises like it does when it's cold and I wondered why it was doing that. Lol. But didn't feel anything. "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson

Swamp_bucks Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Wife is at work in Norwich and she said her office was shaking for a little bit. I didn’t feel anything here at my house.
mowin Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) My wife felt nothing at work. Works in the old Montgomery Ward's building in Manands for the state. They sent out a bulletin saying anyone that is nervous and wants to work from home the rest of the day can do so.. Edited April 5 by mowin
Bucksnbows Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I was in the shower when it hit and knew immediately what it was, but I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and experienced them frequently. I am about 11 miles from the epicenter and we got the full 4.8 shake for a good 30 seconds or so. No noticeable damage to the house. I remember as a kid my Dad and Mom's pictures falling off the walls when we lived in CA. 2BuckBizCT, mowin and blackbeltbill 3 "A sinking fly is closer to Hell" - Anonymous https://www.troutscapes.com https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board
