Belo Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 This thing looks pretty sweet. I wouldn't need it for most of my usual spots, but would be nice for food plots and field edges/corners. https://www.stealthcam.com/new-cameras/?utm_source=dv360&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=StealthCam-Display&dclid=CjkKEQjwwr6wBhCr3aLfiq6GxM4BEiQAVczofrRF5l-4KGftJfF98bOVdaNwu-zGrCMXn9774SI0EIjw_wcB Take the "Buy and plant stuff and then hunt private land" Challenge!

phade Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 It’s likely to have WGI roots since they bought the company a year or two ago. It looks a lot like the prior WGI attempt at it. Stealth sometimes finds a sweet spot for a cam and refines it. DS4K being one of them. Hoping this one is too. I run a Moultrie Mobile on a P180 to cover a 180 FOV and get cell images. Works great. 360 would be killer in plots and corners and open timber.
Jeremy K Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I had the original 360 camera that WGI sold and it worked pretty good for a few years ,when I stopped using it it still worked .

Yeah it's a shame what I hear about them now, but the concept is appealing and maybe a better brand takes the idea and makes it work if this one doesn't. Buckmaster7600 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 I’m sure I’m in the minority because I already think cell cams have crossed the line but this is really getting over the top. Is there a point where the general consensus agrees we’re going to far? At what point is it taking the challenge out of the game? Lil zeek 1

I use them just to take inventory and see what might be around. I guess if your using a cell cam every 10 yards and overhead drone surveillance then maybe.... Depends on what a person wants in a hunting experience. Back years ago a lot of people did large deer drives . Was that too far or taking out the challenge? Again guess it depends on the person. But 11 cams on 117 acres still didn't get this one below closer than 40 yards and only once. Lol. They still outsmart me cams or not, but with cams I would prob never know he even existed. And for me that makes the hunting experience better knowing that something like that is around. It makes it more exciting. Plus I think your discounting the fun they provide with some great pics you would never be able to get in person. Not just in pursuit of a buck. It's part of the hunting on and off season fun of it for me. 23waypoint42.MP4.4b46479945a2dc06768c522885ae3a0d.MP4 mowin, Bucksnbows, grampy and 1 other 2 2 "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson

My problem with cell cams is the instant “ I guess there’s a slight delay” information that can be gained from the couch, work, etc. A cell cam that sees 100 ft in 360 degrees doesn’t give a deer much of a chance to hide.

I just use regular cams. Can't get myself to use cell cams. Not because of the lack of fairness so much but because I already hate work and if I am there and get a pic of a giant by my stand it's not gonna sit well. Lol. The biggest advantage, I'm not giving those bucks a opportunity to pattern me. I laugh at those who say get a pic and run out and kill the deer. Can it happen, sure, but some make it sound like it's a done deal and most will be successful. BS. Ya, I've heard it.. my brothers, friend, girlfriend father shot his biggest buck ever that way, lol. Use em, or don't.. I like mine Bucksnbows 1

They still don’t make game cams with weapons attached so you can kill remotely. I now run 4 cell cams in two states. If my target buck walks by my NJ cams, it will take me 30 minutes to get there assuming I was dressed and ready to hunt. And my NY cams would take me 3 hours and 20 minutes to get there, again, assuming I am home and ready to jump in my truck immediately. They have zero to do with my choice as to if I’m hunting that day or not. What they do is to keep me out of core deer habitat for months at a time unlike my 20 or so regular trial cams I have to walk to for battery and card changes. mowin 1 "A sinking fly is closer to Hell" - Anonymous https://www.troutscapes.com https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board

I pull cards when I hunt that spot/area on my way out so no extra intrusion. And I live 6 minutes away. And no I wouldn't have the discipline. phade Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 We always focus on the end tool. Lightweight boots, composite kayaks that you can pick up and toss in back of your truck, carbon fiber use, GPS, synthetic fiber, high let off, copper bullets, red dots, and on and on and on.
