Decided today to make some apple butter and can it. Just got apples peeled and cut now on stove cooking. Try to post pictures when I am done.

Ended up getting six pints of apple butter and a small dish leftover. Might have to do this again kids go through it like crazy.

Did some chicken soup awhile back, chili is next ,as well as venison. The soup is thick, when we eat it , we add more bone stock and egg noodles to the pot  so one quart becomes like two , by the time it heats up it’s done .

Next time you make bone broth see if there is a local Asian market and buy some chicken feet. They really help with the richness of the broth

My friend recently slaughtered 90 chickens , on his next go round could I simply grab feet from him ? I’d hav3vto figure how to clean them properly. He’s got turkeys to slaughter soon too .

I honestly don’t think you need to do much other than wash the feet. I would rinse them off wash them well.

Put in a pot of water. Bring it to a boil the second it boils. Drain it, rinse one more time and then just make your broth

receipie?

I did a bunch of peaches last year but feel like canning is a hassle. I now have a double outdoor burner that might make it a lot easier going forward, but always interested in learning to can new things.
