Splitear Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 In our 4-H Archery Booth during fair we usually tack up balloons to the wall and 3-D targets as a fun little "reactive" target for shooters. However, I have a couple of volunteers and kids who have a severe latex allergy, and balloons are off the table for this year. I'm looking for some ideas of fun targets that we can use in place of them. Right now I'm considering: playing cards, tennis balls (staked to the top of targets and hanging). It needs to be cheap, as we have hundreds of shooters throughout the week. Also, something that's easy clean-up. I thought about clay targets, but we have artificial turf floors in the booth, and I don't love the idea of cleaning up clay pigeon fragments all the time DirtTime 1
phade Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Playing cards is easy. Might be simple answer. DirtTime and Splitear 2
mowin Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 How about some sort of bin underneath the target board to catch the broken clay targets? Splitear 1

That’s not a bad idea, a tarp would work as well. I wonder if our low poundage bows would break them (10#). Only one way to find out

Only one way to find out I'm sure they would. But I swear some of them could survive the swarm of 9's to rob me of a perfect 25 in trap. Splitear 1
Robhuntandfish Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Take a trip to a dollar store and see what you can come up with. "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson
DirtTime Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Another vote for the playing cards. You can get them with animals on the backs, so it would sort of be like a 3D shoot. Or you can get standard playing cards in bulk on Amazon pretty cheap.
