I am being invaded! I’ve noticed more squirrels and chipmunks around this year than normal. I just went out to change a couple tackle boxes in the boat that I used yesterday and when I opened the compartment there was a squirrel in there building a nest. I usually am a live and let live kind of guy but now it’s a war! Put out two squirrelminator traps and just got the 572 dialed in with subsonics. I’ll put the shooting feeder “a shelf with a 12”X12” 1 1/2” plywood backstop”  up after this rain shower. It will be about 25ft from my bedroom window.

Live and let live. But too many is too many!!!

Our house has a ton of squirrels, and just recently I have been seeing chipmunks where we never saw them before! Since this is a no fire area, I can't shoot them. But I may grab a couple live traps from my hunting partner and take a few for a one way ride!!!

Pellet guns work pretty good on chipmunks and red squirrels....and an almost finished jar of peanut butter a pretty good bait...this one has a few under its belt...

Chipmunks are easy..  rat traps work great.  I screw them to  1/2" plywood to keep them from dragging the traps away, because you will get some that are barley caught with a will to get away .

I have two giant black walnut trees and three bigger english walnut trees in my lawn. Lets just say we have a few squirrels around. I like the .17 hmr for flat out destruction. Not as loud as my .22 mags and more fun that the .22LR.

A pellet gun used discreetly is a possibility. Pretty sure our town has an ordinance against firing any type of gun within town limits??

Big change when we bought this house three years ago. I've always lived out in the sticks. And was free to do whatever I wanted. But, do to some health issues for my wife and I, we decided something easier to take care of at our age may be better?

We absolutely love our home, and the quiet community where we are. Just need to accept the changes that go along with it. Which are harder for me than my wife.

Back when I lived in a free state “NC” I was able to legally obtain a suppressor. I had the world’s largest “slight exaggeration but it was huge” pecan tree in my back yard. I was the last house on the  dead end. I had more fun than could be imagined most fall evening with a cooler of beer a tuned 10/22 and a box of subsonic eley. It never mattered how many I killed they would be repopulated by the next day!

Sounds like a great time! If only we could enjoy cans here…
