Best restaurant in albany

Have to be in Albany tonight and looking for a good place to eat for a “date” night with my 15yr old daughter. I avoid Albany like a plague so I don’t know much about what’s there.

Good food, and a good atmosphere. we aren’t picky.

Wolf Rd. area has Barnsider which has good salad bar and steak. You can sit in the bar area for more causal or in the dining room.

Lanie's Cafe on Albany Shaker Rd. is casual and also has good salad bar and steak and isnt really a cafe. Alos have D'Raymonds for Italian, but a little higher end.

Downtown Albany area has The Bishop, Druthers, but that's sort of a local chain now.

New Scotland Ave. area has Ale and Oyster, Tipsy Moose. I would normally guide you to the Fountain, but feel they have gone downhill in the last couple years. 

Upper Western Ave. by Crossgates has Across the Street Pub which I like and City Line.

I've been to all except City Line. I'm sure others will chime in as there are lots of options. Have fun!

I second Lanie's and Druther's. Also, if looking for a neighborhood tavern wings and pizza type place, Ralph's on Central Ave is good.

I recommend Lanie's too! We love it there. Food is delicious, and a good variety. Also plentiful portions. A little pricey, but well worth it. It will be perfect for a daughter date night!!! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for all the suggestions, she wanted to go to the poke bar based on what she saw from a “blogger?” I’m currently eating some uncooked fish with some green stuff in a bowl, it’s not bad but I don’t see myself being a regular customer.
