Amazon has their industrial basic alkaline AAs. $50 for 300. That’s about $10-20 off similar competitor pricing for Powermax, etc. at the same count.

I picked up two sets. They’ll take care of regular cams and short soak cell cams.

Are these any good? Will they last from August to mid December in a Reveal cam like Duracell's do in my cams?

They are alkaline so they won't last as long as lithium, but it really comes down to how many pictures you'll be taking over that time period and what kind of reception you have if you are going to be sending them over cellular and how often.  If memory serves me correctly, I think lithiums in a gen 1 reveal would usually get me 4000-5000 pictures sent on instant in a 3-4 bar area.  Alkalines may give you 2000-3000 (untested) I would imagine.

Temperature has a lot to do with performance too. Cold early winter weather can really inhibit cam performance with alkaline. They are water based.

You could have enough power in theory but in reality it is not usable 24 hours a day as temps drop. Most folks never realize this. They think their cam is working because they get some pics.

I have used both alkaline and lithium batteries. I've used both in the winter. I run my cameras in video mode except the one I leave out in the winter I change them to photo at the end of the season. I've seen no difference in photo mode in video I run 15 second video but have ran as long as 1 min. on scraps and gut piles that's where the lithium work the best.

A lot of folks say this but don’t know they’re actually missing pics in certain scenarios.

It’s often seen more easily in baiting states but gut piles and snow would help too. Missed triggers can’t be IDed without tracks being added in snow or corn/food missing. But it happens way more than folks realize. It often happens at night with colder temps and as the sun comes up and temps rise to working conditions pics happen again. It’s a really nuanced part of cam operation many folks don’t fully grasp at times (not saying you specifically).

I agree with phade here.  In colder conditions when the voltage of a battery can drop below the threshold to activate and take a picture, some pictures can be missed.  As the day warms up and the batteries warm up, they have enough voltage to then take pictures.  Alkalines are affected by cold temperatures more than lithiums.  Just something to be mindful of as you will get some pictures while not realizing you are missing others.   I believe this is also one reason some cell camera battery status (percentage charged) fluctuates, although I don't think their status value is very accurate.  I've seen them go from 100% to 80% to 40% back to 80% in the same day.  Generally when they start to go below 100% I'm looking to change them out.  I've seen 100% to dead the same day plenty of times.  Also another reason I just started running 12v systems as it all but eliminates this issue for me and the intervals I swap my batteries.

I've changed my cameras to gamepro. what I like about them they are fairly cheap with a lot of features. one of those is not only do they have a forward sensor it also has side sensors that can be turned on and off. So you can pick up movement and heat sooner. If across a tail I turn them on down a trail I turn them off. So I don't miss much.

That has nothing to do with voltage cut off.

I have never had voltage cutoff with ether battery type

If you run your cam in freezing temps with alkaline, largely below 20 degrees, I can guarantee you have. You just don’t know it. You can also get cutoff when batteries get low in any temp.

The operating range of alkaline batteries is 0 to 130 degrees fahrenheit so no I have never seen cutoff unless I forget to change them in a timely manner. I have alkaline in both my spy points and they been running since January both cameras are taking about 700 pictures a month per camera both are at 75% life on the batteries.
