Got these pics a little while ago. First pic you can see a busted 8 right behind a doe.

Then is this video you can see a second buck 2 seconds later in pursuit as well.

And then finally in this video you can see the first buck better from another cam about 100 yards away as they leave the bedding area. I passed on this buck back in October. He had a broken rack then. I really hope he makes it. Gun season opens here tomorrow.

I had a 4.5 year old 7 and a bunch of scrappy bucks chasing a young doe the other day in my woodlot. Any of the smaller bucks that got too close to his lady friend got run off by the old man. Always cool to watch. He was on lockdown maybe six hours, but I didn’t see the actual breeding.

For some reason the embeds of the video aren't working right (in Safari or Chrome).  Not sure why, reviewing it...

Ok. It seemed to work in the past. Let me know if I can do anything different. I can upload to YouTube and paste the links.

YouTube is always the best option simply because they are masters at video and embedding the YouTube player works automatically.  Direct video file upload is handled differently by different browsers because every device manufacturer uses a different format (MP4 vs MOV vs AVI, etc).  YouTube accepts all of them and then plays them back in a universal player.   Browsers haven't done that, perhaps by design (i.e. Apple Safari natively supporting Apple MOV format) but even in this case Safari isn't embedding it correctly.

Ok. Done. Can you view them now?

I remember hunting years ago, in early November, and seeing in a group of does a small fawn still with spots.  I highly suspected this was a 3rd rut offspring.

More than likely. Due to the high number of does in my area, this is quite common. A few years ago there was a fawn with spots in mid January. B4ECB905-D898-4DAB-A93D-86F8FA1ED627.jpeg.66c769c0447effce97122d773caca729.jpeg

I believe you are on LI.  I am too and what I saw was on LI.  The deer have everything they need to thrive and be healthy, allowing for 2nd  and 3rd rut survival.  Agricultural crops, landscaping,  hardwoods, thick cover, very limited hunting access, low hunting pressure, and typically mild winters.

None of the doe fawns around here are anywhere close to 80lbs. The ones coming into estrus now were probably missed during the first or second rut. There was a very short intense rut this year where many came into estrus around the same time and just weren’t bred.
