one camera was in too sunny of a spot and it seems the batteries got fried during the heat a couple weeks back. tons of action on the others though. hundreds of the few does and fawns that are on the property daily, and one pic of one of the two spikes that ive been seeing the last few weeks. finally got turkey on camera after theyve managed to evade them all for the last 2.5 years. this bear has been a reoccurring visitor too. oh yeah, and that same friggen groundhog i've yet to catch up with. lolimage.thumb.png.900f846d9d44a15e8287e4ab48d6b03e.pngimage.thumb.jpeg.78998e9f58d0ef11ab65e28097548692.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.e314d0f477c9daa4fb8508d985604b17.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.025ab3d90547aa0a5f3de2b83b2ddb5b.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.0906f4b221082cd9939849fea5fee535.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.30c69854623b4121db459dddb2969e86.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.90f810de61eb8b7ce938009abd3329ad.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.64faf88985e7a883db929a64e9924547.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.c1e1b8c47c3f0aaa38433bf8516a6a84.jpeg

lots of turkey, coyotes, and fox on camera this pull (crappy photos though). i gotta find time to get on those yotes. first non-spike buck of the season. cool video footage of 3 spikes, two sparring.  and alas... gobblers!  oh and of course, that friggen chuck ive yet to meet up with.

Nice spot and looking good for you. If your cards are old get new. Also factory reset on cams. Get em son

thanks. i tried resetting the cameras the last time around but no change. its got to be the cards, they are definitely getting old. going to get some new ones tomorrow.

that same young buck was back last night. im pretty sure he is the same yearling that was cruising through last november. unfortunately i lost all my photos/videos from last year when my computer got fried a couple months ago, so i can only go from memory

looks like one of the fawns is a buck.. or, he will be anyway

image.thumb.png.a5d0c99e291be2a02b3ea731c5f3fe2e.pngthe spikes are still hanging around, not grouped up anymore though

image.thumb.png.0dd71c8ad6e355e0de4a408b790c5866.pngcoyotes been back to, but crappy quality on the photo/videos

but obviously the best part of this pull was the buck  that i'm convinced is the one i was told a neighbor tagged last thanksgiving. image.png.b09e0916a2f4a556c5835f2b9b00556e.pngimage.jpeg.eb632fecaced1d987da511ca9ce593c3.jpeg

a lot of the usual, the doe with twin fawns (less and less of them though), couple of spikes, and that one hot doe. otherwise there were hundreds of photos and videos of leaves falling, and these highlights:

first, just because its hilarious, caught myself on camera walking back up to the house because in my rush to get to the woods when i heard crows going nuts this morning, i forgot something pretty important... not my gun, my glasses  also a hat, but more importantly my glasses lol
image.thumb.png.8700e68e64db050b79381d6ae1c35786.png

by the time i found them and got back out there, the crows and whatever they were riled up about were gone. sat for a bit anyway, but no luck and had to get back to my responsibilities for the day
anyway....

coyote in the bedding area!
image.thumb.png.193cc18142074ca68a847ef386d834dc.pnglooks like he got something in this pic image.png.c51d6a2b5ab0834e0a85a72af6486ebf.pngcouple bigger bucks...

this guy has been doing laps around the property every night and he was chasing the doe around last night, hence the crappy quality of the images (takes too many videos put together to show the chase)

oh yeah, definitely not a coyote. cant think of anything else it'd actually be, i just wish one of these pulls i'd get a clear photo of the foxes but theyre always running someplace lol

this pull was a bit depressing. there has been a serious drought here, the creeks have just about dried up and my pond is completely empty. with no water around, we dont have nearly as many does as me normally have this time of year. instead of the typical minimum of 9, im seeing 5 at most.  and the worst was that i now know that the ONE day i couldnt get out to hunt, the friggen turkey reappeared. image.thumb.jpeg.6078fe4239cb06bae4591320786ef2c3.jpeg

theres some good news i guess:

(1) no sd card malfunctions this time (swapped them all for brand new ones last pull), at least from the half that i pulled so far.

(2) theres a lot of different bucks showing up fairly regularly. only one spike has been out and about during the day so far - he must know about the antler restriction lol theres quite a few different young 4 pointers, and one who was a 4 (maybe 5) but is seriously jacked up and missing most of one side. theres also a 6, real small 8, and a decent 8 that have been cruising at night semi-regularly. while it had previously just been the spikes on the chase, all the age classes are chasing and grunting like crazy now. last night when i stepped outside around 11 there was a chase on in the woods just next to the house, and none of the deer were the slightest bit phased by my being out there. seems the return of the cold has had an effect on rut behavior around here.

(3) i think  ive got footage of the target beauty of a buck but its far and blurry so it is hard to say for sure. hoping when i pull the rest of the cards (and repull those i had checked yesterday before last nights chase) i'll see more. unfortunately, these are screenshots taken from videos and they are always so much less clear when i pause the video to capture it, idk why.

(4) pretty cool pic and video of an owl flying over and almost looking like it was trying to scare off this deer at one point on video.

lol, yeah I heard someone put a hit out on me.
I went into beast mode for a few weeks to crank some work out and meet important deadlines. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go after turkey. I got out last weekend with the weather change for deer. Saturday I drew on a buck that came in chasing a doe. He stopped and messed with a branch for a while (I didn't see a scrape or I would've set up on a different tree). I wasn't able to get a shot off cause of some brush  that I didn't want to shoot through. Freezer's empty so I'll be focusing on deer for the next few weeks but now you've got me thinking LI turkey (I'm in Manhattan).

Edit: Nov 16-29 fall turkey LI

Edit: Looks like no fall turkey in LI...

my freezer is likewise empty. hopefully not for long though!

you know, after i asked i started thinking that there was only one turkey season down there. but when i looked it seems like there is both this year?  so now i'm really confused lol
