Not much out there for NY legal Xbows

Ya, such a stupid law.  I went with Excalibur Revx.  Meets the width requirements.  According to a local DEC officer, they "may" choose to ding us on width, but they are not going to check the draw weight requirements.  His exact words were "we've got more important things to do to waste time on that shit". Lol.

I was just browsing a bunch of different brands , and man not a lot of offerings that are legal for us . Im perfectly happy with my Blackhawk , but was thinking about buying a back up. I did get back the full inclusion permit from my orthopedic dr the other day .

Agreed.  Not much money to be made since most states don‘t have our restrictions. (I know I’m stating the obvious!)

Yeah i see you did , give us a full review on it after you've shot it . I kinda figured the Eco’s wouldn't be to harsh  on the requirement’s . As long as we are not blatantly abusing the restrictions . Kinda like the 65 mph speed limit ;)

The limb width thing is insanity. The draw weight I can kinda sorta get behind if you're trying to even the playing field a little with compounds, but even then you figure most compounds are 60 pound draws give or take. To think you'd need 280 is pretty crazy.

I wouldn't really worry too much about a non ny legal bow, but if you shoot some giant or take a pic with it, just be prepared. Drop a doe and nobody will care. Cause that's how society rolls...

Same here , but i will be on state land from here on out . So yeah why tempt fate .

Like I said, there is your own internal compass. What is illegal isn't exactly immoral but some may feel a type of way about it and that's fair. Also, it's never a big deal until you kill a giant or if you post a pic online of any deer with an illegal gun or bow that it matters.

For a horrible analogy, think about trans men in women's sports. It wasn't a huge deal till they started winning. Not as much media when they weren't knocking women off the podium.

I don't blame you , I always go by the book ... I just never wanted to lose my hunting Privileges !

Exactly . Like i said , kinda like the 65 speed limit. That nobody follows ,  I'm not going to speed with expired , inspection / registration and bald tires .
