mowin
First shot didn't go as planned, lol. Very difficult to look down the rail and confirm POI compared to POA. Thought it looked good. Look at 12 o'clock in the pic. Arrow skipped off the top of the target. Lol. dbHunterNY
haha... yea that's my biggest pet peeve with crossbows. you can't spot your shot like following through with a vertical bow. there's a loud pop and it's really hard to tell where your bolt ended up. Ya, I heard it hit the target, then the unmistakable whack of wood. Wouldn't have seen it right away if the sun wasn't out.
CharlieNY
Sighting in and shooting a crossbow is the same as with a rifle. Start in close. Sight your cross hairs at the bullseye and squeeze off the shot. Don't take your eyes off the bullseye until after the shot has been placed and don't try to watch your bolt fly to the target. After the shot adjust your elevation and windage towards the bullseye. Continue this procedure until you are hitting the bullseye. Then move your target out and do the same at various yards. You probably have a rangefinding reticle on your scope and you can sight in at various yards such as 20, 30, 40 yards or more. Remember that the top crosshair will be your closest yardage and the ones below it will be your farther yards. I sight mine in with the exact same bolts and broadheads that I hunt with. Good luck. I bagged a black bear with my crossbow a few years ago. grampy, Robhuntandfish, mowin and 6 others

I bagged a black bear with my crossbow a few years ago. Nice bear. I've sighted in my share of em. Difficult part is you can't look down the rail and arrow shaft. Makes it very difficult. Every time I looked, it appeared to look low, so I aimed at the top 3rd of the target. Realistically, it was only about 5" higher than the POA. Someone needs to invent a xbow boresighter, 😂. I've bought two from shops, and all they did is mount the scope and look down the rail. No boresighter for a xbow.

Belo jokes aside, glad you got something new to mess with, and good luck. mowin 1 "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Luke 6:31 and Matthew 7:

lucky118
Make sure scope is set for the fps of your bow. Or you'll be there all day. And you will have alot more holes in that wood lol. mowin

I was a couple inches low at 30, so I increased speed until it was dead on at 30. Haven't tried 40 yet, but I doubt I'll ever try a shot that far at a deer.
