Long winter ahead ?

So I’ve lived here nearly 30 years and the squirrels have always loved this nut tree, but this year theres  way more squirrels,and they started burying them earlier as well . There’s ten here in the Side yard and another five in the front , it’s an all day festival too .

Mrs Nomad doesn’t like rodents and has given me the green light .

Noticed that aswell recently,gunna be time to start wacking some squirrels here too.getting way to comfortable and don't need em trying to get into house.few weeks ago I was leaving for work in the AM and had one on the bird feeder so I walked up and swung my lunch bag and barely missed it.shouldnt be able to get that close!

I’m hoping for lots of snow.  Last winter was the lamest I ever remember.  My two snowplowing rigs (one for heavy snow and one for light snow) are rearing to go and my woodshed is nearly full.

All right here it is, the reason we have had little snow wear I live is because I've been spending 300 a year for a snow plow guy. This year I'm not going pay for plowing. So we will get dumped on

I feel like the issue with leaves dropping is also partly due to the caterpillars trashing trees this summer, and by how hot/dry it was for a bit

I have thinned quite a few from my own lawn this year. Those damn red squirrels are the worst, they get into everything.

Worth a repost-so many squirrels I caught 2 in 1 have a heart trap

New pellet rifle dialed in to minute of squirrel. Wife’s concern is them getting into our attic, but there’s no trees close enough for them to use .

Once I raked up the ground  under that tree it helped with the numbers, I think the tree has lost most of the nuts .
