Terrible timing. Today around 3:30pm I was mowing my lawn on a steep sidehill section. I slipped and pushed the mower away from me safely. But my high side leg somehow got caught behind me and twisted at an awkward angle. I knew right away it wasn’t a sprained ankle. I was hoping maybe dislocated ankle since it felt super loose and I couldn’t walk on it. My wife and neighbor helped me into the car and went to ER. Broke my leg (fibula fracture in 2 spots down near the ankle). The only good news is that it wasn’t displaced enough for immediate surgery, so I was able to come home on crutches and air cast. I’ll have to call orthopedic surgeon(s) tomorrow. Hopefully I can avoid surgery.

The bad news is terrible timing. CT hunting opens 9/16, but even bigger than that is my Kentucky whitetail trip I paid for and was scheduled to fly out 9/20 for. My mind is a million places right now, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

sorry, @Versatile Hunter I can’t argue about politics anymore. Gotta focus on hunting and now my leg.

Ouch. That stinks. Hopefully you get better news upon any specialist review for surgery. Hunting obviously takes a back seat to health but maybe if things align well folks can help you at least get into and out of the woods for some sits this season.

Dam......Well that sucks Biz. Hopefully you are a fast healer and the OS gives you good news? But you probably won't be doing much for at least the next six weeks.

Really hope you feel better soon.

Damn that sucks.  At least it don’t sound like that bad of a break and you should be completely healed up by Holiday ML season.  I should be able to set you up with some of that, if you feel like traveling to WNY.  Pm if interested.
