@blackbeltbill have you ever tried cranberry mountain wma in Putnam?  I have it marked as potentially good for woodcock but I think the state also plants pheasants there.

I have never been there. I mostly hunt Pheasants at Stewart State Forest and Sterling Forest State Park.

I know you have said that- I only ask because it is near my daughters house and would be an easy side hunt when I am visiting the grandkids- I will let you know how it is.

@blackbeltbill I researched more and they no longer stock pheasants at cranberry mountain but they do at nearby Great Swamp WMA

DEC sent info out today and Cranberry is stocked this year also!  I know I’m crazy… You have probably already figured that out… But I took Tuesday off next week to go up for opening day! I’ve never experienced an opening day and I’ve heard that it can be a madhouse, but I have to do it at least once! I’m going to drive up from Long Island late morning and I hope by the afternoon things should have settled down.
