JohnPlav
How old? I assumed his age in velvet, but now I’m second guessing. (This property is surrounded by miles of corn and soybeans.) dbHunterNY
quartering away pictures can screw ya even after aging in velvet under the context of looking for physical characteristics that happen only when testosterone levels are high. still early but at least hard antlered in second photo i'm assuming? looks like a lower connecting but thinner neck with a taper to the profile of the body. as in it looks more developed in the front quarters vs the hind quarters. not much of a gut and other stuff to put it mature. can't see if the legs look like it's on stilts but don't seem overly long in the bottom pic despite the grass height. i'd guess 3.5 yrs old. Moog5050
If his stomach dropped a bit lower to square him off I would say 3. I know from personal experience that a stomach dropping is age related. JohnPlav
This is a fork point we assumed was a yearling based on antlers. After today’s pics he’s gotta be older, just happens to have a small rack. Plenty of venison on him for me to shoot tho. This spot does have some really big-bodied deer, I’ll find some pics of some of last years biggest.
