Ozone generator

Been thinking about getting one for my gear bag.  Anyone using one?

Buddy of mine hunting exclusively from ground blinds, and uses one and swears by it.  I know nothing is going to completely fool Bambi's nose, but if one will help with the hunting clothes, I figure why not.

I use an ozonics bag.  I nuke my clothes with it before the am hunt and again before the afternoon hunt.  Good spot to store hunting clothes in between hunts and I gotta say I think it helps.  Anyway to know for sure ... probably not.  But I believe it works. Car dealers use them on vehicles before reselling.

I’m cheap. I just cut off a small pine branch and put that with my scent free clothes. If the wind is blowing towards a deer, they’re going to smell your skin. No amount of tricks with your clothing can change that.

I use one for my gear and truck. I don't hunt with an ozonics or anything like that though. I do think they're nice to have, but not essential. A great test is to throw some old smelly shoes or kids sports gear in a bag and let her rip. I know deer smell much better than we do, but mine will knock down the odor I can smell, so that tells me it's at least doing something!

I do the same exact thing, take a pine branch put it in a lockable tote will all my gear. I never play the wind as it shifts on my mountain and why play the wind if you have a stand where deer have been proven to come from all sides of your stand.  I've done so well all these years without all these gimmicks, why change now.

I was at Cabelas in PA maybe 18 years ago and they gave us (Trout Unlimited staffers) a talk about how while hunter numbers keep dropping, the amount those fewer hunters spend on their sport keeps growing. But at some point, they know a tipping point will be reached when our numbers are too small and growth for stores like Cabela’s will slide negative. But it is true how much we buy, much of it a simple gimmick.

wont argue gimmicks, our community is a huge sucker for them. But in industrial settings O3 is widely used for deodorizing and other cleaning applications. There is science behind it. Does it work in a tree stand? I don't really think so. DOes it make a difference with your gear? I don't know, but there is some real world applications where it's proven.

yes I've read that as well and so far I don't think I've had any issues, but I've had stuff break over the years probably the same as any of us. So it's hard to say if it was cheap stuff or I abused something. So far my higher quality firstlite stuff is holding up well as it should. Should I have issues there I would be more likely to pin it on the ozone then some of the cheaper stuff I have.
