Swamp_bucks
I’m going to try and keep this up to date as possible. Once again I’ll be only chasing deer on Stateland and State Parks this year. Goals for this year not in any real order: 1) enjoy my time 2) shoot a good buck with bow 3) shoot any target buck 4) get my youngest nephew a deer during youth 5) spend a few days in the mountains of PA with gun or bow 6) hoping to set @Joe T on some grouse early October 7) kill a good buck on a piece I haven’t yet 8) hopefully have our annual opening day of gun dinner 9) get @Redneck4Lifehis first southern zone buck 10) only use a bow until I can tag a buck accept for opening day of gun I’ll be out on 10/1 in the morning in a swamp/ apple orchard as of right now looking for a doe. Hoping some of the bigger bucks I have on camera give me a better pattern by then. Still waiting to see if a big 7 is still alive. I know he made it through the season last year but doesn’t show up at my one spot until mid October. some targets for the year below. I have others I’ve found by glassing just no photos. 2024 summer pull - Sep 2, 2024.mov Otto, Rusty, Lil zeek and 4 others

Redneck4Life
Looking forward to the annual dinner and drag brother. I'm just glad you have me down sitting in woods and seeing deer is good enough for me. Also know now not to let anything go up on that property. People kill everything up there. Swamp_bucks
Good start to the season. Got in undetected, up the tree by 605. At 630 I think what I hear is a raccoon making racket under my tree and the bottom I’m in so dark I can’t make it out. At about 640 I hear what sounds like a deep breath and steps following so I knew it was a deer. I look down and just catch movement and this deer is coming out of a bush at 10-12 yards. However it’s so close I can’t tell if it’s a doe or a the little spike in the area. It eventually caught my wind and blew and took off. Later about 730 I hear jays going nuts and look over and there fawns feeding in the weeds 40yrds away with no care in the world. Also heard some owls this morning and found a scrape and rub. first sit of the year and 3 deer is a good sit for me. Pics from my location. Next time out should be Thursday morning. Going to give this spot a try again for a doe. Edited Tuesday at 03:39 PM by Swamp_bucks boo711, Stubborn1vt, Redneck4Life and 4 others
Swamp_bucks
Hunt #2 went to hunt the big scrape area. I got turned around in the swamp for a little bit but found my way to the spot I wanted to be. It was extremely foggy and I never have good hunts when it’s like that. Was still nice to be out. checked camera and the big 6 I was in there after was working the licking branch yesterday and the 29th. Only other deer was the small basket 6 and a doe around the 9/20. might be out this weekend if not it’ll be onto youth next weekend with the nephew.
