blackbeltbill
These 2 Examples/Pictures are very easy to work around on Public Land. No complaints,I Love the Challenge. You just have to know the nature of the Wild Turkey. The 2 Pictures that follow are in prime Deer/Turkey Areas with plenty of Hickories of different Types and White Oaks abound as well. After countless Spooks- the Turkeys won't be far away. The task will be Tougher- but not impossible. So these 2 Pictures are actually of a Low impact Nature. One shows a Jogger running through Hardwoods where Black Bears often roam. The 2nd is the very much more common Mountain Bikers. Both groups often get out at the crack of Dawn- just like the Hunter. No problem-- just work around it and set up a good distance from the Well formed Mountain Bike Trails ,regular Trails, and Woodsroads. So-- what is High Impact Public Land Interference? Drum Roll/LOL! You got it- it is your Brother Hunter. Why is that? Simple- What is the Nature and Physical Makeup of a Predator?? This will put a Red Alert Major Spook into both Deer and Wild Turkeys. Drum Roll/LOL! All Predators- Especially Human Ones will -- Stare Intently and Always Move forward slowly without breaking Eye Contact. And a Predator always has Eyes in the Front of the Face- rather then on the sides. So let's get back to the Early Morning Hardwoods Jogger and the more common Mountain Bikers. Both groups are moving fast, making a ton of noise, and often Talking Loud and often very colorful in what they are wearing. More so the Mountain Bikers. Low impact on the Deer and Wild Turkeys who are used to this on almost a daily basis. They just move off some as both these groups do not display the habits of the Predator. Just a quick look and they continue on. In the 2 Pictures below- it is the same wherever,I hunt. Ramapo State Forest near Turkey Rich/Haskell,NJ. Waywayanda State Park in Jersey, Ringwood State Park in Jersey, Ironworks State Park in Jersey, Sterling Forest State Park in NY, and Stewart State Forest in NY. And a few other areas in NY. Yup,I get around. Take The Multiple Use Area Challenge.
