dbHunterNY
this is a sad topic. the AR-15 has become so vilified that a shocking number of sportsmen would be fine if it's banned. in todays relatively civil society here in the US we're removed from the thought that we'd have such a massive need for the 2nd amendment that's not rare situation outside personal protection inside and outside the home. ruling and documentation is clear and has been since the very first assault weapons bans during clinton era. it's far removed from an M4 or other variants used in the military. it's actually arguably less capable than your grandpappy's handed down Remington Model 742 30-06 deer rifle they make aftermarket 10 round magazines for that's not black and of little to no concern. AR-15 are actually even more common now, further weighting the Heller decision and historic precedence that'd afford them to stay in the hands of the people. yet no ruling has put this to bed so more focus can shift to keeping firearms out of the hands of evil individuals that seek to do people harm. real gun violence prevention discussion hasn't happened yet. in a perfect utopia of peace do we ban sticks, rocks, pointy objects, or weighted objects when they're used with ill intent? hopefully we learned to prevent an incident happening to begin with.
