Many years ago I purchased a Cabela's Hawken kit.  I wrongly thought it would just require assembly.  Everything (stock, brass fixtures, barrel, etc) is in a raw unfinished state.  It is more than I am willing to take on or get the final product I want.  It needs the skills of a true gunsmith.  Anyone have any recommendations who I could send this to for completion?

Honestly, the price for someone to build it would probably outpace the value once finished.

If it were me, I'd sell the unfinished kit on muzzleloadingforum.com and put the money toward a slightly used Hawken on that site. It's probably the most active primitive muzzleloading forum/classifieds I've found online.

Gotta agree. The cost of having it completed by a gunsmith would far out range the value of the finished product...far cheaper to buy an assembled one.  There is a very good market for the kits, which you can legally sell without problem.

It would make a good winter project, but a cheaper kit like that wouldn’t be worth the money paid to a builder, and most builders would t take it on anyways. I’d either learn some new skills and build it myself or sell it and use the funds to buy a completed gun.
