House cat or bobcat?

I guess i'd agree- the color is definitely not the standard bobcat.  But, they can be dark colored.  That picture is about a half mile from the nearest house- all woods and corn fields in between.  In ten years, i've never had a picture of a house cat before.  But, have had plenty of bobcats.

It’s 1000000000% a cat.

When I was younger we had a male kitten, scared to death of the outdoors. With time he’d venture a little further and further until one night I was deer hunting across the road and here he comes outta the standing corn meowing 🤣.I just did a google earth measurement as I know exactly where I was sitting and its .35 miles from the house.

It also has a long tail.

not a problem. our very limited tax dollars that pay DEC big game staff will support them making a life size bobcat and mt lion cardboard cut outs and offering to visit the exact cam location to prove it's just a house cat. yes they've done just that here in NY.
