Opening Day Ducks 2024

We got out this morning for some opening day ducks with my son's dog Gunner. He delivered as usual and we had a fun morning.

My dog Enzo and I can’t go up from Long Island (where our season opens the end of November) until next weekend. Headed to a pond up in Cooperstown- can’t wait!

Just got back from Cooperstown picking apples with the family, my camp is 35 mins from there. If you have time stop by Middlefield Orchards, fantastic apples. Headed in soon for an afternoon bow hunt. Good luck on the duck hunt.

Doing great out there Charlie!  

Pouring here.  We got two shots on opening but didn't connect.  Planning to go next Sat and hope they are flying better after this cold weather next 3-4 days.

We heard 5 or 6 shots out on the upper Niagara River while we’re were out fishing yesterday.  I can’t recall seeing any ducks out there but we did see quite a few Canada geese .  When does that season open back up in WNY ?

The Western zone opens back up for the second split on December 7th till January 12th they took out all of November so if you hunt smaller bodies of water you are probably going to be frozen out or if in Buffalo area you could have a foot of snow
