I never had a tower blind till this year. It's almost like some level of cheating, but it sure was nice yesterday sitting out of the rain with the  kid in nice comfy chairs. I was thinking of also picking up a little buddy heater for late season gun hunts. I'm a big scent guy, but not as worried during gun. What's the impact on burning propane on deer? Of course I try and play the wind, but sometimes I'll just go out and sit on a sunday afternoon with redzone on my phone.

Never had an issue. We have several enclosed on the property all running heaters. I’ve had deer in close and they never acted any different.

Get a 20lb tank and the converter hose

how long do the little tanks last? Nevermind I see 5.6 hours, that's only like 2 hunts haha.

It’s definitely worth it for the 20 pound tank. The 20 pounder will usually last the season

I ordered the Buddy Heater that included the 20lb tank hook up.

Did you have to run a filter from the tank to the heater? I read in a couple reviews that they had an issue with the heater clogging up, and a filter solved the problem.

This is from Mr Buddy. About THEIR line .

Does Mr Buddy heater need a filter?

The 10' buddy hose does not contain any plasticizers or oily contaminates that will leach out of the hose during high pressure propane flow. That is why that hose does not need a filter.

Thanks Larry! We are all set then!

The online price for the junior was about $20 cheaper but in store it was just $10 and agreeing that it'd be better for a 20 pound tank, that's the route I went. I saw you could buy a 1 pound bottle refiller but that that seems like a hassle. I didn't see a mr heater hose, but they had coleman hoses there that I bought, so we'll test her out tonight!

I don’t run a filter. I’ve used it for three years now with no issues. I few of the others decided to run filters and they don’t have problems either

You don’t also run the heater non stop. We usually cycle on and off as needed. The constant heating too also creates moisture problems. It gets warm fast in there with even a basic buddy heater.

Another thing that helps is using battery powered heating items. I have a  heated seat cushion and also a blanket. We rigged a solar panel and bank with a large battery and can plug our usb items in there. Phones, tablets, lights, the heating items, etc.

I found the heating items to work really well and reduce the need for the heater.

Whats the solar setup look like.....any direction would be appreciated. Looking to add something like that to our new hunting hut.

that's next level. I too use battery powered hand heaters and socks. I also put in a phone clamp yesterday so I could watch sunday ticket. This is very different for me given I've mostly always hunted out of hang ons or climbers, but it's not a redneck blind, it's a millennium buck hut, so soft shell with wide open shooting windows. I have a few battery backup hubs should I ever do an all day sit or something that requires phone charging, but I like your thinking!
