Mattypotpie8s Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Saw it in I think fur fish and game. After your hunt put them in a sandwich bag and squeeze the air out. Good to go for next time. Simple, should have thought of it but it works corydd7, mlamm24, Lawdwaz and 1 other 3 1

Robhuntandfish Posted October 17 Posted October 17 If you haven't looked into them check out the rechargeable hand warmers. I will never go back. I keep a few hot hands in my pack in case but I haven't used one in 2 years now. The rechargeable ones are so much warmer and consistent. phade Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) I agree with rechargeable ones for short sits. I find they work well. I prefer the tossable ones for all day sits as they are less bulky and they can just “run” all day. Edited October 17 by phade Mattypotpie8s and cervidchasers 2

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what brand rechargeable do folks recommend?
Swamp_bucks Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I’m for rechargeable as well. I do have extra hand warmers in my pack but mainly use the big body ones for all day sits. One goes on the heart and one for each kidney. Mattypotpie8s 1
Robhuntandfish Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I bought these off of amazon. Throw one in a hand muff and turn it on when i need it. i bought two as they take a while to charge. The hot hands seem like they never stay warm enough for me. I also wear a heated vest for every sit. Get a bit chilly and just turn that on for a bit. Best thing ever for hunting . wooly, ShootEm, Bucksnbows and 2 others 3 1 1 "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson

I wear a pair of thin gloves like I use for early fall bow or spring turkey season instead of big, bulky gloves. Agreed, The hand warmer in the muff works way better than putting them in your gloves, They get more air to activate them and you can move your hands and warmers around to get the blood flowing. dbHunterNY Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I don't really use hand warmers any more. i have if it's real cold but I tend to pack lighter gloves for dexterity. then i just keep my hands in my pockets. growing up we had these handwarmers that worked awesome. it was a liquid filled thick membrane bag the size of a hand warmer but with a clicker in it. the clicker started a reaction that warmed them up. they'd eventually crystalize and get stiff. toss them in boiling water puts them back to new for reuse. they either got old and leaked or grew legs at camp. i'm an electrical engineer. I don't like anything with batteries and wires to give off heat that could go wrong.

The ones I have are warmer than the hot hands. "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson
